Car Rental - There are numerous car rental
agencies that service the Venice area and they do
have pick ups at the airport. In fact, that is most
likely where you will want to get and return your
rental car. After you have arrived at the airport
if you are in need of transportation to and from the
Airport you can use a rental car, bus, a motor-boat,
train or taxi. If you hire a car, you won’t
have to worry about traffic in the centre of Venice
but you will have to decide where you’ll park
the car.

of the many suppliers or you can try the car rental

list below). Apart from the rental time, you’ll
need to decide the type of car and where you’ll
pick it up. Be sure to ask if you qualify for any
specials or discounts depending on how long you will
be renting the car for, the type of car you want,
etc Also be sure to note when and where you need to
return the car at the end of your stay so you won’t
be rushing around at the last minute.
Even tho a car won’t be good for your Sighseeting
of San Marco, Castello etc, you will get great benefit
for visiting locations adjoining such as the Lido,
Mestre etc. Remember, too, you might decide to take
accommodation outside Venice, park your car at your
hotel and use public transport to get into the centre
of Venice. Or if you’re staying outside Venice
you could drive as far as the vehicular traffic limits
and use one of the major car parks and go on on foot
or by waterbus. A car is great if you want to pay
a visit to the seaside resorts such as Bibione, Caorle,
Choggia and to go on a trip to the famous city of
Padua.
Venice car parks can be found at
Piazzale Roma and there is a big car park on Tronchetto
island. From Tronchetto island you can take a vaporetto
to San Marco or the Lido. Another place to leave your
car is in Mestre. Mestre car parks are near the station
and are cheaper. From Mestre you can take either a
train or bus.
